When you think of yeast infection; throat rarely comes to mind as a place where one is likely, but they do happen. Candida or yeast is present in the oral cavity of about half of the population and on its own will not cause a problem. It only becomes a problem when there is a change in the chemistry of your mouth or throat that make conditions favorable for the Candida to grow and thrive in mold form.

A chemistry change or imbalance can happen as a result of damage to your immune system. Things like chemotherapy or illnesses that affect your immune system like HIV/AIDS or diabetes can cause this. Also, excessive use of alcohol, drugs or steroids can also cause changes to occur in your body that make you more
susceptible to yeast infection. Babies are most likely to suffer from a yeast infection of the throat because
they are born sterile and free of yeast or bacteria which they come into contact with through nursing and just living outside the womb in general. They are not yet equipped with the “good bacteria” or strong immune system needed to ward it off.

People who wear dentures are at higher risk of yeast infection of the mouth and throat because of the inevitable irritation caused by dentures. Yeast infection in the throat can involve pain and irritation, redness and sometimes the appearance of white spots that do not come off with brushing. While these signs can be easy to spot, there are other far more serious illnesses that produce similar symptoms, so it is important that you get a proper diagnosis from a healthcare provider to rule out the possibility of something more serious.

In the case of this with weakened immune systems from other illnesses like HIV/AIDS, the sudden presence of a yeast infection in throat (or thrush) can be the result of aggravation of the main illness. You must seek medical advice in this case.

Treatment of yeast infection in the throat should also be sought from your healthcare provider. It tends to clear up by itself in babies, but in adults, treatment is needed. For some natural relief at home, you can take a tablespoon of live culture yogurt and hold it in your mouth for a few minutes, 4 times a day. This is not only soothing but offers also some of the “good bacteria” that we need to keep yeast at bay.

Finally, proper oral hygiene and a healthy diet overall will help you prevent yeast infection.

Women looking for yeast infection solutions should consider that not all home remedies will work for everyone.

It’s a case of finding what works best for you and then sticking with it. However, if you are about to go on a trial and error spree just bear in mind that you really should be using anything you’re unsure of and consult with your doctor just for better peace of mind.

In this article, we are going to look at three yeast infection solutions which may help you. If there was an honor roll for yeast infection home remedies then these three would be high on the list of most favored solutions.

Yogurt For Yeast Infection

Believe it or not, yogurt is just about the most widely used home solution for yeast infection. Yogurt contains active bacteria which is effective in restoring the balance of bacteria within the body. When bad bacteria is greater than good bacteria then problems are going to present themselves.

Yogurt not only can help restore the balance of good and bad bacteria but it’s also effective in the prevention stakes as well. There are several ways that yogurt is used and the simplest is to just apply it to the affected area. Many women freeze it before applying as it’s said to ease the burning from a yeast infection.

Garlic For Yeast Infection

Garlic is one of the most widely used solutions for many ailments and it’s also an effective relief solution for yeast infection. The reason behind this is garlic’s antibacterial properties. It is almost like using an antibiotic.

The garlic is simply inserted but there could be complications if not done with care. To do this take a clove of garlic and make sure it is cleaned of its outside skin then wrap it in cheesecloth or gauze then tie the ends with unwaxed floss leaving a bit of string just like with a tampon to remove later.

Some people simple place the raw clove in however that may require assistance removing later. Garlic pills may also be effective. This treatment is probably best for mild infections.

Tea Tree Oil For Yeast Infection

Loke garlic, tea tree oil is used for a variety of things yet it also has many fans as a relief for yeast infection. For severe cases, boric acid is a possibility.

To do this treatment simply place the boric acid in some capsules that you can get from just about any pharmacy and insert them. Use the internet to find out the various dosages available and frequency but never try anything you are unsure of without calling your doctor.

These are just three yeast infection solutions you could consider and which may help your case. But just to remind you, they are simply stop gap measures and if your situation doesn’t improve then don’t delay - get medical attention.

There are many different ways to help you to overcome a yeast infection and a yeast infection cure is available to you. Many yeast infections can be properly diagnosed on their own, especially if you have already had a yeast infection. In a lot of cases, the infection may go away on it’s own, but if not there are many over the counter creams that can be used to help it clear up.

In some cases, when a yeast infection hasn’t cleared up or if you are finding that the infection is becoming worse, some type of yeast infection cure is needed to rid yourself of the infection. The best thing to do is to consult a doctor at this time. In some cases, antibiotics are needed to help cure the infection if no other method is working.

Yeast infections are caused by the Candida Albicans fungus. A yeast infection can be caused by things such as a poor diet, lack of sleeping, stress and any internal or external factors that may cause an overgrowth of yeast in the body.

Yeast infections are common and they are nothing to be ashamed of. Infact 70% of all women will have at least one yeast infection in their lifetime and 45% of women will have two or more. There are many different ways to also help you to prevent getting a yeast infection and having to use any type of yeast infection cure. You can do such things as avoid using irritants, try wearing cotton underwear and pantyhose that have a cotton crotch. Try to stay away from tight clothing, looser clothing is better since it allows your body to breathe.

Remember, yeast likes to grow in places that are warm and filled with moisture. It’s also been said that eating yogurt can help to replace good bacteria in your body that will help you to fight off the overgrowth of yeast.

Yeast infections aren’t something to be ashamed of, they happen to a ton of people all the time, so do not be imbarassed. There are many types of different things that you can use to help you with your yeast infection cure and remember, most products you can purchase over the counter, so it will allow you to save time then going to the doctor’s and getting some expensive prescription trying to cure your yeast infection.

Yeast infections are one of the most uncomfortable infections that a woman will experience in her lifetime. These infections are caused by an overgrowth of an organism or yeast known as Candida. This organism generally lives in the vagina in small numbers, but when the bacteria in the vagina becomes out of balance the organism can grow to large numbers causing an infection.

This raises a common question: are yeast infections easily treatable??

Surprisingly, vaginal yeast infections are very common and occur in approximately 75% of the female population. They tend to occur more commonly in women who are under stress, lacking a nutritional diet, are taking antibiotics or who are ill. Infections can also happen as a result of hormonal imbalance during pregnancy. Women with a weak immune system are also at an increased risk of developing symptoms.

There are numerous yeast infection symptoms that occur with this imbalance, and they may differ between each case. Some symptoms that will most likely appear are an itching and burning sensation around the vaginal opening, a thick, white discharge resembling the consistency of cottage cheese, a burning sensation while urinating and pain or discomfort during sexual intercourse.

Although the pain and discomfort of yeast infections may be unbearable, a cure for yeast infection has long been found. If this is the first yeast infection that has been experienced, a visit to the doctor is always advised, and many times this infection can be safely and easily treated with over the counter medication. These medications come in the form of pills, creams, vaginal suppositories or a combination of all of these. While all medications will treat the infection, a topical cream will offer rapid relief of uncomfortable symptoms.

Since a yeast infection is an experience that a woman will never want to experience again, there are several steps that can be taken to prevent them. It is important to avoid tight fitting clothing and if possible only wear white, cotton undergarments. Change your clothing immediately following water or sweat inducing activities and avoid heavily scented perfumes in sensitive areas. Be sure to wash well and dry the body completely after bathing.

While yeast infections can be annoying and uncomfortable, they are easily preventable and treatable. There are several over the counter and prescription medications to treat the infection quickly and effectively. If more than one yeast infection is experienced in a year, visit your doctor to ensure that a more seriously health problem is not the cause.

The itch and utter discomfort of a yeast infection is bound to affect you at one point or another seeing as how it is known that over seventy-five percent of the female population will have at least one in her lifetime.

Luckily there are several over the counter yeast infection treatment options available when the need arises, but before rushing out to your local drugstore you should make sure that you do in fact have a yeast infection. The following is a list of possible yeast infection symptoms, however you should bear in mind that there are several other, more serious conditions that may produce similar symptoms. The only way to be certain that you have a yeast infection is to see a doctor who can perform a simple swab test to confirm a diagnosis.

When you have a yeast infection, you may feel any of the following symptoms:
- Thick, white discharge that can be odorless or smell like bakers yeast
- Vaginal redness, itching and/or swelling
- Pain or discomfort during sex or urination

Also, it is important to understand that a yeast infection can be passed back and forth between you and your partner through sexual intercourse. Treatment should be sought and completed by both of you before you have intercourse again.

Since yeast infection is caused by an overgrowth of the fungus Candida albicans, you would need to look for an antifungal treatment. There are several antifungal creams available without a prescription. The thing with the creams is; that while they will help soothe itch and the burn—it will not actually cure the yeast infection itself. That is where the vaginal suppositories and oral medications come in.

Over the counter yeast infection treatment packages generally come with what you need to treat yourself inside and out. Some of these include: clotrimazole (Gyne-Lotrimin and others), miconazole (Monistat 7 and others), tioconazole (Vagistat) and butoconazole nitrate (Femstat). These treatments come in 3 day and 7 day options and are successful in treating most vaginal yeast infections. Keep in mind that if you use one of these over the counter yeast infection treatments and it does not cure your yeast infection—all is not lost! Your doctor can prescribe something stronger or a different course of treatment.

Having a rash is no picnic, but a yeast infection rash can be just downright nasty! The itch, the burn, the discharge—when will it end??

Being sure that the rash you have is indeed a yeast infection rash is important before you start with any type of treatment. A healthcare professional is the only way to be completely sure. Though, if you’ve had a yeast infection rash before; chances are you know what to look for.

Some of the signs of a yeast infection rash include: redness, swelling, itch and irritation. This type of rash is normally quite red with a well defined border, meaning the difference between the affected skin and the regular skin around it is quite pronounced. If all that weren’t bad enough—there is usually a discharge to boot! A yeast infection rash tends to release a clear, odorless discharge.

Anyone can get this type of rash and it can pop up anywhere on the body. This happens due to an overgrowth of yeast or Candida albicans that manage to make their way below the skins surface where they multiply and grow. A yeast infection rash is most likely to develop on parts of the body that are unusually moist or where there is skin on skin friction, such as: in skin folds, in the belly button, under the arms or breasts or the upper thigh area. The most important thing that you can do is keep the area clean and dry (unscented talc is great for keeping things dry). This avoids further irritation and the spreading from one body part to another. In the event that your rash is on the vagina, anus or penis, extreme caution during sexual activity is important to keep from passing it on to your partner.

There are several over-the-counter creams available to treat a yeast infection rash and these can be purchased at any drugstore. If you’re looking for natural relief, there are a couple of options to choose from: tea tree oil applied twice daily for a week works well, as does garlic oil applied the same way. Bergamot oil applied one a day has also proven successful in treating a skin yeast infection.

Proven to treat and even prevent all types of yeast infection is yogurt with live cultures. This is because it contains the “good bacteria” that helps to kill off yeast. Incorporating it into your diet can help prevent future infections. Apply it directly on the affected area for soothing and healing—straight from the refrigerator will feel especially good on your hot, irritated skin. A yeast infection rash can be uncomfortable but with a trip to your local drugstore or kitchen you could quickly be on your way to being rash-free!

There are few things more uncomfortable than a yeast infection. Between the cheesy discharge and the constant itch; you wonder if you’ll make it through the day without losing it or being caught trying to cop a scratch!

Here are three relatively easy and super-effective tricks that can help you find the relief you so desperately want without even really having to leave your home!

Tip 1:

The use of live culture yogurt for yeast infection relief is possibly the most simple and most effective way to soothe and treat a yeast infection. What you need is natural yogurt that is labeled as having live bacteria or active cultures. The joy of this tip is that it can be used safely inside and out, so apply it as needed to the affected area or even better: put the yogurt where the infection is! You can insert yogurt into the vagina using the good ol’ dip and dive method (meaning on from your finger, into your vagina!) or for a neater option, you can dip a tampon in the yogurt and insert. Try freezing before inserting for a cool soothing treat that will have you looking forward to the next tampon! Still on the topic of yogurt, here’s another novel idea – eat it! This way you are getting the good bacteria into your digestive system which can help you prevent further yeast infections.

Tip 2:

Tasty in small doses, but a little stinky—garlic can give you yeast infection relief (as well as keep your partner away until your yeast infection is gone!) Consuming fresh, crushed garlic four times a day for a week is helpful. Also, just as with yogurt; you can insert garlic into the vagina! Take a peeled, fresh
clove of garlic, dip in olive oil to coat and wrap in gauze or cheesecloth. Leave some extra on the end to make for easier pulling-out. Insert into the vagina and leave in for a few hours. This can be repeated up to four times a day for the purpose of soothing and healing.

Tip 3:

Tea tree oil is used for the treatment of many things—yeast infection is one of them. You can apply the oil to the affected area using a cotton ball or even put a few drops on a tampon and insert into the vagina. This offers a cool, tingly sensation that feels great and helps to cure the infection.

That covers the three tips as promised, however, there are a few more things that you can do to help you on with your quest for yeast infection relief:

- Keep the area clean and dry
- Expose to air as often as possible (skip panties at bedtime!)
- Avoid perfumed soaps, sprays and talc (cornstarch-free talc is a must!)
- And for Pete’s sake, get out of that damp swimsuit!

Most people regard a yeast infection as an issue that only affects women and this could not be farther from the truth because Candida albicans—the fungus that lives in all of us, can grow and cause infection in anyone, regardless of age and sex and on any given part of the body. This is surely a rude awakening for anyone who believed this of course, but even more shocking to many is the fact that yeast infection can be passed on through sex.

Women are more susceptible to yeast infections than men and hormones tend to be the most common reason for this. Most often women, will experience the uncomfortable symptoms that accompany a yeast infection, though there are always cases where the symptoms may be so mild that they go unnoticed, leaving you unaware of the fact that you need to be extra cautious about sex with your partner. It is also
possible to have a yeast infection without any symptoms at all. It’s rarely thought of as something that men should be concerned about, but men like women can get yeast infection of the genital area. Penis yeast
infections are quite common in men and unlikely to cause any symptoms in a healthy man. So taking extra care when it comes to sex is important and goes both ways. You could practice safer sex, but when you have a yeast infection sex may be better off saved until your infection has cleared to help avoid not only passing on the infection but also to avoid further irritation which could prolong it.

If you are concerned that you may have a yeast infection, you can see a healthcare practitioner for a proper diagnosis and suggested treatments (of which there are many over-the-counter and natural).

Being able to spot the symptoms will be helpful in knowing when or if you have a yeast infection. In women the common symptoms include: redness, swelling, irritation, itching, burning and a whitish-grey discharge that may have a cheese like consistency and an odor similar to yeast or beer.

In men, the symptoms could include: redness and irritation on the end of the penis that may also include white spots as well as a white to yellow discharge. You may also experience slight soreness after intercourse. Keep in mind that the healthier the man, the less severe the symptoms.

Even if you get treatment for your yeast infection and cure it; you run the risk of becoming re-infected by your partner every time you have sex if they do not get treated as well. If you have a yeast infection and have had sex you should urge your partner to seek treatment too.

When it comes to yeast infection, sex should be approached with extreme caution on both your parts to ensure good health and overall better sex!

Candida albicans or yeast is a fungal organism that we all have present in our intestinal tracts and kept under control by a healthy immune system and good bacteria. When something happens to upset and destroy the good bacteria it causes the Candida albicans to invade our body tissues and spread. It commonly manifests itself as a vaginal yeast infection or even thrush, but in severe case can spreads inside
the body and become a systemic yeast infection.

A yeast infection of the systemic kind can cause symptoms that can easily be mistaken for other illnesses, so confirming a diagnosis with a medical care provider is extremely important. This can be done by having a stool sample analyzed. This type of yeast infection (systemic) can cause general symptoms such as: fatigue, migraines, dizziness, weakness and even muscle pain. It can also cause gastrointestinal disruptions like: diarrhea, constipation, gas, rectal itching and food sensitivities. Some of the other possible symptoms of a systemic yeast infection are: menstrual problems, bladder inflammation, urinary tract infections, PMS, hypoglycemia, anemia, depression and even some skin issues like eczema and acne.

A systemic yeast infection, while potentially serious can be treated and cured, but there is no overnight solution and treatment requires not only supplements but also lifestyle changes to help keep the amount of yeast in your body down. These changes usually begin with the diet and involve avoiding foods that contain
yeast such as: breads and sweets, alcohol and beer, concentrated sugars and malts.

Some supplements are encouraged because they are known to aid in lowering yeast levels and strengthening the immune system. Sugar free yogurt containing live bacterial cultures is considered a sort of a wonder treatment because it replaces the good bacteria that we need. It can be consumed and even used topically to relive the irritation and symptoms that are inevitable with other types of yeast infections including vaginal and skin infections. Incorporating exercise into your life will also help you to keep yeast at bay by relieving stress which can also wreak havoc on your immune system.

Finally, avoiding drugs and chemicals that can weaken your immune system or upset your bacterial balance will also prove beneficial in your fight against the systemic yeast infection. Some of these include: steroids, birth control pills and antibiotics. With commitment and patience, you can cure your systemic yeast infection and return to a more comfortable and healthy life.

When you think of female yeast infection, thoughts of Monistat commercials probably
run through your mind and with good reason as this is the most common type of
yeast infection in women.

Taking care of yourself and keeping your immune system strong will help to
keep this type of female yeast infection at bay since the fungus that causes
the infection is more likely to grow and cause a problem when your body is not
prepared to fight it off.

Though not the most pleasant topic you’ll ever discuss—understanding
the female yeast infection will help you to not only learn how to do your best
to prevent them, but also learn to spot the early signs so that you can treat
them easily and with mild natural remedies as opposed to the drug based treatments
on the market.

Yeast infections in women happen when there is an overgrowth of yeast in the
body which is then encouraged to grow into mold form because of favorable surroundings.
These favorable surroundings for the infection are created by things such as
a lowered immune system, or change in the vaginal environment caused b y excessive
heat or moisture or an increased pH balance. Other factors like elevated sugar
levels, allergic reactions and hormonal fluxes can also encourage yeast infections
in women.

Keeping yourself healthy will help you to keep your pH levels where they should
be as will some other simple precautions like avoiding tight clothing or non-cotton
underwear which can create unnecessary heat and moisture. Avoiding excessive
use of antibiotics which can kill your good bacteria will also help to keep
female yeast infection at bay.

A common culprit of yeast infections in women is hormones. Fluxes in hormone
levels are already typical in women, but things like oral contraceptives, hormone
replacement therapy and steroids can also cause changes in hormone levels which
can lead to a yeast infection.

Chafing or any type of skin damage in the vaginal area puts women at increased
risk for this type of yeast infection because it gives the fungus (Candida albicans)
an entry point allowing it to invade beneath the skin and grow into the fungus
that is a yeast infection. Injury to this sensitive area is not difficult and
can be caused by sex, irritants like certain soaps and bath products and wearing
wet bathing suits or panties for a prolonged period of time.

Finally, knowing the signs and symptoms of yeast infections in women will help
you tend to them as soon as they occur. Things to look for include: redness,
swelling, irritation, itching and a cottage cheese-like discharge that has an
odor similar to yeast or beer.

Remembering these simple things will help make life a lot easier and far more
comfortable should a yeast infection come your way!
